BookGlutton / API

BookGlutton is committed to providing free tools in the hopes of expanding the presence and quality of books on the Web. Here is a list of our current tools. They're free for personal use and development, but if you're interested in using any of these in production environments, please let us know.

HTML to EPUB Converter

The EPUB conversion tool accepts a ZIP file containing HTML files and assets, via POST request to api/getepub, and returns an EPUB file. It's an easy way to quickly get Web content into the portable EPUB format (PAID service).

Search API

The BookGlutton Search API is an interface to our catalog of public domain, creative commons and copyrighted titles. It returns results in Atom format (FREE).

Unbound Reader Widget

The BookGlutton Unbound Reader is the central social reading experience on BookGlutton.com, and now it can be embedded in any other web site too. The widget launcher can be placed in any web page simply by copying a single line of HTML (FREE).

Notes

The BookGlutton Notes API is an Atom- and JSON- based, cross-system means of viewing and attaching notes for documents and document locations within EPUB container files (FREE).
