Profile-defaultimg-sm Yes, I would really appreciate it because there are many phrases which I consider beautifully sounding or otherwise interesting and quoting them in message is too annoying when you have to do it every time.

PUBLIC NOTES

Methods: Great illustration of Socrates' methods of action and definition of knowledge/wisdom.
Apology

Judgement of Socrates: I knew about false accusations in 'Clouds' but did anything Aristophanes had written affect the judgement of Socrates and make it more biased than it was?

Goats?: Is it some alusion I don't understand? Or simply reference to the origin of theatre?

Sarcasm: Sarcasm - how rude it was back then? And were there many who appreciated it? Especially in brides-to-be? It doesn't seem likely that they could voice their opinions so freely.

Relevant: I wonder what gives a better knowledge of a person: our ability to name their hobbys and interests or the ability to answer questions like Helen's one. What is really relevant? Does it depend on observer or the person observed?

Tolkien, 'Return of the King': I find this paragraph strangely similar in general idea to the ending of "LOTR": 'There is no real going back. Though I may come to the Shire, it will not seem the same; for I shall not be the same'. There's a great deal of sadness in stability of objects, in their continued existence when people suffer and change.

Similarities: It strongly reminds me of a similar pattern in one of Ibsen dramas "Hedda Gabler" - writing loses its purpose when someone gets the same/similar idea as you're busy collecting information. It seems to be variation on subject: 'everything has already been said'.

Small talk: Quite interesting how small talk looks the same everywhere: people seem to love talking about their ilnesses. Is it universal topic in every culture?

Apocrypha: I really enjoy apocrypha, it makes the story more believeable, as if it happened in real world.
