Now it is Jim who is negatively commenting on his mtoher's greed! Jim is using his keen observation to lsiten out for the blind mans steps. Once he hears them, he warns his mother, who in turn pays him no mind

Upstanding man?: Again we get another instance of Dr. Livesey being a tyrant. He seems to be absorbed in his power. He threatens to have this man killed, with the assertion that he can do so.

Upstanding man ?: I think this statement calls us to consider Dr. Livesey's personality a bit more. For the better part of the story we have been given reason to think of him as wise and passionate, however his interactions with the pirate makes us think something more
