What's old is new again: As a librarian myself, this simple sentence aptly and succinctly describes the current state of libraries as I see it. Namely, the issue of whether our main mission should be one of instruction and innovation, or one of preservation and, in a way, traditional gate keeping. I certainly have a bias for the formerstance, but this battle rages within the profession as we speak.
