TABLE TALK
No one has posted to this glutton's wall. Sad Glutton. You can be first by typing something above.PUBLIC NOTES
Gossip: It does not even sound like the ladies are remembering Father Flynn for the good parts, they just seem to be gossiping about why he might have died and what events might have made him into a "troubled man".

Funeral Preparations: I'm glad that in this day and age there are people that plan the funerals for you. That must have been treacherous planning their own brothers funeral and laying him out like that.

The priest: I like how Father Flynn's features are described here. I think its odd although I am sure it was quite normal of that time to have a wake in the persons house. I mean we have wakes in facilities and I guess thats odd and unpersonal as well but to see the person dead in their room with all of their things surrounding them would freak me out.

Suck up: I think that his uncle Jack is just sucking up to Mr. Cotter. He probably regards him very highly and wishes to have his approval.

Death: Its kind of funny when something tragic happens people feel the need to be quiet like its written somewhere or something. I like the way the room is described though, great imagery through words. For example: "dusky gold light"

Realization: The boy upon seeing the drawn shades of Father Flynn's room and the notice of death pinned to his front door has finally realized that Father Flynn is really dead and is remembering how odd yet special Father Flynn was.

Children: Mr. Cotter is making the assumption that the narrator of the story is a child. Obviously if he was a child and NOT mature, he would be hanging out with other boys his age but I think Mr. Cotters assumptions are completely backwards. Because the boy is so mature is why he prefers hanging around old Father Flynn in my opinion.

Mr. Cotters opinion: I see now why the boy was not showing how concerned he was with Father Flynn's death. Its because Mr. Cotter would automatically decide what type of person he is and judge just based off of the company he keeps. Mr. Cotter obviously did not think very highly of Father Flynn.

Strange: Why is he acting so strangely when he just found out that Father Flynn died. Father Flynn was obviously a friend of his so why would he try and hide from the rest of his family that he actually cares deeply about Father Flynn.

assumptions: I think that the man speaking of Father Flynn barely knew him at all and should therefore not speak on the subject of the possible cause of his death or on his character.
